Prague Zoo Welcomes Five Adorable Cheetah Cubs

Last Update:

PRAGUE (AP) – The Prague Zoo has announced that the five cheetah cubs recently born at the park are in good health and thriving.

The zoo shared on Thursday that the quintuplets, born on May 15 to their 6-year-old mother Savannah, have successfully passed the most vulnerable stage. Savannah is reportedly dedicated to caring for the three males and two females.

Cheetahs, the fastest land animals, are also highly susceptible to disease. Experts emphasize the importance of each cub’s survival in efforts to protect the species that face the risk of extinction in the wild.

This is Savannah’s second successful litter, following the birth of quadruplets in 2014. In both instances, Ben, now five years old, was the father. The cubs have yet to be named, and zoo visitors will get their first glimpse on August 26.
