A wild cat keeper in South Africa has formed an extraordinary connection with two cheetahs she helped raise from cubs, showing a unique and lasting friendship.
Linda Rosenlöf, featured in a series of heartwarming videos, is seen playing with the cheetahs, rolling on the grass, and spending time with them in a way that highlights their close relationship.

These cubs were abandoned by their mother and taken to the Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre, located near Pretoria, where Linda cared for them.

Since the cubs regularly interacted with humans, they could not be released back into the wild. Instead, they became ambassadors for the cheetah centre, helping educate visitors about these magnificent creatures.
Linda explained, “I help train these cheetahs for ambassador work. The centre used to have over 100 cheetahs, but now are 23 left. Some are rescued from farmers who donate them instead of killing them.”

During her ten years in Africa, Linda has worked closely with around 300 cheetahs, running the adoption program at the sanctuary, giving educational tours, and caring for the animals.
Reflecting on her experience with the two cubs, Linda shared, “These two cheetahs were born at the centre, and I helped raise them after their mother abandoned them. Because they were hand-reared, they’ve developed a strong bond with humans and now serve an important role as educational ambassadors.”
Her approach to working with the animals is rooted in patience and trust. “Time is what builds trust and creates a unique bond.

I deeply understand cheetahs, which allows me to stay relaxed around them, and they sense that. They’re very comfortable with me.”
Linda believes her connection with the cheetahs is special, saying, “I always give my heart to the animals, and the love I receive from them in return is irreplaceable.”
The sight of these relaxed animals often moves viewers of her videos, and many find the sound of the cheetahs’ purrs especially soothing. “A cheetah’s purr can go through your hand, arm, and straight into your heart,” she added.

Linda’s experiences and love for the animals have inspired her to publish two photo books, titled A Book of Confidence: Life Is All About Cat-titude, Choosing Pawsitivity, Expressing Grrr-attitude and A Book of Courage: Dare to Live the Hand You’ve Been Given. These works reflect her deep connection with the cheetahs and her passion for wildlife conservation.
