A remarkable photograph taken in Kenya’s Maasai Mara shows what appears to be a cheetah with three heads, each looking in a different direction.
The perfectly timed image captures the illusion as three closely positioned cheetahs watch their surroundings.
Wildlife photographer Paul Goldstein from Wimbledon, who captured the shot, described the moment as “spellbinding,” noting that it was worth enduring seven hours of rain.
Cheetahs, known as the fastest land animals, can reach speeds of 25 mph in just 2.5 seconds when sprinting.
Female cheetahs usually live alone or with their cubs, while males often form small groups, typically with their brothers.
Although the cheetah population is declining, Maasai Mara boasts one of the highest densities of cheetahs per square mile in the world, making it a significant spot for sightings of these incredible big cats.
