An exhilarating moment was captured as a cheetah executed a rugby-style tackle on a young antelope before overpowering it near a waterhole in South Africa’s Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.
In a thrilling display of speed and agility, the spotted predator dashed across a dusty track, pouncing on an eland calf and bringing it down.

During an early morning drive, the remarkable event was photographed by Gonnie Myburgh, a 67-year-old amateur photographer from Pretoria.
Myburgh recounted the experience: “As we approached the waterhole, we were scanning the area for animals when the eland calf suddenly appeared on the road from our left. The eland delivered a last kick just before the cheetah took it down.”

This dramatic encounter showcases the raw power of nature and the survival instincts of both predator and prey in the wild.
