A stray dog named Willy, who was discovered alone and suffering in the desert, is now on the road to recovery thanks to the kindness and support of his rescuers. A woman found Willy in a remote part of eastern Utah in poor health.
The Community Animal Welfare Society (CAWS) shared that Willy was barely clinging to life when he was found.

He was severely dehydrated, underweight, infested with fleas, and had serious injuries to his eyes, likely caused by porcupine quills that had gone untreated for a significant period.
Willy’s situation was heart-wrenching for CAWS, Utah’s most established animal rescue organization.
In a Facebook post, CAWS described the grim scene: “He was wandering, starving, thirsty, in tremendous pain, and blind—with no one knowing how long he had suffered.”
Thanks to the generous donations from CAWS’ dedicated supporters, funds were raised for Willy’s medical care.
Although veterinarians were unable to save his eyesight due to the numerous old quills embedded in his eyes, face, and feet, Willy is now receiving the care and comfort he needs.
