When we bring dogs into our lives, we silently pledge to care for them with love for their entire lifetime. Under the warmth of such affection, our canine friends thrive into happy and confident companions.

However, it’s distressing to hear about the increasing number of owners leaving their dogs in perilous locations, disregarding what might happen to them. These abandoned pets often remain in place, ever hopeful that their family will return.

However, it's distressing to hear about ...

Ribbles, a loyal and gentle dog, shared this hope after her family left her near a railway. Each day, she risked her life, waiting for her loved ones to come back.

Stranded on the train tracks in Southern California, Ribbles was devoted to staying put, believing her family would bring her back home. Whether unaware of her peril or simply undeterred, she risked danger to be reunited with her owners.

Weeks passed, yet Ribbles held her ground. Her yearning to see her family outweighed everything else. Then, one fateful day, a compassionate woman saw her narrowly avoid a train and tried, unsuccessfully, to rescue her.

Grateful for their assistance, Hall aske...

Determined to aid the stranded pup, she contacted Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy, who quickly made her way to the tracks. There she found Ribbles but faced the same challenge.

During the rescue, a train passed five times. Each time, Ribbles slipped through a small hole in a nearby fence, leading to a local car dealership. There, employees revealed they fed and sheltered her daily.

Grateful for their assistance, Hall asked if she could set a humane trap. She left food inside a crate and returned the next morning, hopeful. Spotting movement on the tracks, her heart sank until she discovered it was merely scavenging coyotes.

Lucy has finally found the safe and lovi...

Finally, Hall saw what she longed for—Ribbles was safely inside the trap. She took the dog to a pet hospital in Irvine, California, where veterinarians treated Ribbles for a severe ear infection and injuries to her elbow and leg.

The thought of Ribbles enduring such pain alone was heart-wrenching. Her devotion to her family had been greater than her fear.

Once Ribbles recovered, she was adopted by a loving new family who instantly fell for her. Renamed Lucy, she now resides in Joshua Tree, where she receives endless affection and care. She even shares her home with a dog sister, and the two enjoy hiking with their family.

Lucy has finally found the safe and loving home she longed for. Yet, many dogs still face abandonment in dangerous places. If you encounter a stray, please contact a local shelter or rescue organization. Together, we can ensure that more dogs feel loved and cared for.
