Clarence, a lovable 4-year-old rescue dog, believes firmly in treating others as he wishes to be treated. For Clarence, this means showering everyone he meets with warm hugs and hoping his caretakers will remain by his side forever.
Clarence’s early life was far from idyllic. He spent his formative years outdoors in his family’s yard, only to be abandoned later in a Walmart parking lot.
It was there he encountered two other forsaken dogs, a German shepherd and a Chihuahua mix, whom he began trailing after.
Following his newfound canine companions, Clarence and the German shepherd were eventually picked up by animal control. Although Clarence’s owner was notified, they refused to reclaim him, and he faced the threat of euthanasia.
Thankfully, an organization called Hounds In Pounds swooped in just in time to rescue both Clarence and the German shepherd, later placing them in homes filled with love.
Despite his rough beginnings, Clarence radiates kindness and harbors no ill will toward humans.
Each year, organizations like PetSmart Charities strive to create a better world for pets by partnering with local groups. Their efforts focus on increasing adoption rates, enhancing access to veterinary care, and providing disaster assistance.
