Angelina Jolie is reportedly pursuing legal action against the Daily Mail for publishing a video allegedly depicting her during a period of heroin addiction in the 1990s.

According to The Huffington Post, Jolie views the publication of this footage, sourced from the National Enquirer, as a significant invasion of her privacy.

The video purportedly includes a conversation between Jolie and her father, Jon Voight, discussing her brother James and her late mother, Marcheline Bertrand.

This move follows former drug dealer Franklin Meyer’s claims that he supplied cocaine and heroin to the actress multiple times per week.

Interestingly, this development emerged shortly after the Daily Mail apologized to actor George Clooney for an article regarding his fiancee’s mother objecting to their marriage on religious grounds.

Clooney publicly criticized the publication’s behavior in a scathing op-ed for USA Today, denouncing their actions as potentially criminal.

The Daily Mail attributed the article to its digital platform, MailOnline, promising a thorough investigation into the matter.

Despite the apology, Clooney remains dissatisfied, emphasizing that attempts to conceal wrongdoing often exacerbate the situation.

Jolie, now a UN Ambassador, has previously been candid about her struggles with substance abuse, admitting to a variety of drugs in a 1996 interview with The Mirror.
