When moving into a new house, surprises are often part of the package. However, an Alabama couple was not prepared for the distressing discovery they made.

Upon their arrival at the newly purchased property, they found that the former owners had abandoned their ten-year-old dog.

The loyal Pitbull, known as Molly, was left tied to a tree with no one to care for her as her previous family moved on, taking their valuables but leaving behind their loyal pet.

In response to this situation, April said, “We couldn’t believe someone would treat her like property. But, she’s better off. She’s gonna have a great life! We love her! Their loss, our gain!”

Immediately after signing the paperwork, April and her husband JC went to check on the animals mentioned in the property documents. They found Molly dejectedly lying in the yard, still chained.

But once set free, Molly’s demeanor transformed—her tail wagged energetically as she eagerly followed April and JC, desperate for interaction.

Despite her challenging past, Molly quickly showed herself to be a gentle and loving soul, leaving many people puzzled as to how anyone could abandon her. The Parkers also made it their mission to locate a cat mentioned in the house papers.

After a few days of searching, they found the timid orange feline hiding on the property. With patience, they began to earn its trust.

While Molly adjusted to her new indoor life, she revealed a fear of thunderstorms, which likely stemmed from spending years outdoors without comfort.

In their home, April and JC had two cats—Brainsaw and Joofus—and two rescue dogs, Roux and Mojo. Molly was warmly welcomed into their family, with one memorable moment during a storm when Joofus offered comfort to calm her fears.

The Parkers took Molly to the Colony Animal Clinic in Fairhope for a check-up, where they learned she had heartworm and was suffering from right-sided heart myopathy.

April informed their online followers, “We are doing the full treatment that will be administered over the next few months. We are hopeful treatment will help her feel better and slow progression of the disease.”

Molly’s plight touched many hearts after April posted her story on TikTok, sparking widespread support and empathy. People from all over sent packages filled with toys and treats for Molly, showcasing a remarkable outpouring of kindness.
