Teddy once endured a harsh life confined to the roof of a house, where his food was often soggy and his drinking water murky. Day after day, he battled the searing heat until, fortunately, his circumstances improved two years later.
There are countless individuals who find great fulfillment in rescuing animals that have experienced neglect and solitude. One such animal is Peluche, a puppy whose early years were spent tied up on a house roof, devoid of warmth and love. His plight was noticed by Keila Andrea González, a young woman who lived next door to Peluche’s original owners. For two years, Keila pleaded with them to let her give Peluche a better life. Finally, her persistence paid off, and they agreed to pass him into her care. Transforming from a neglected, lonely puppy, Peluche soon became a beloved member of Keila’s household.
Keila shared on TikTok, under the handle @keilaandreagonzle, that Peluche had been confined to her neighbor’s roof since 2020. Describing his previous state, she mentioned his untidy fur and terrible smell. Often left alone on scorching or rainy days, Peluche would find shelter in a tiny tin hut.
Moved by the pup’s situation, Keila approached her neighbor with offers to adopt or buy Peluche, but those offers were initially declined. Instead, she was allowed to provide him with a bed, a small house, and even took him to be groomed. Yet despite these efforts, Peluche remained in a state of neglect—left in the sun with tainted water and hardly any care.
After two long years, the neighbors finally relinquished Peluche to Keila. She immediately set to work cleaning him, despite the challenge posed by his filthy and matted fur. Keila’s commitment to Peluche’s well-being has been unwavering; she has worked tirelessly to restore his spirit and ensure he leads a delightful life filled with walks, affection, and protection from harsh weather.
Reflecting on the journey, Keila posted, “It took two years for them to agree to give me Peluche. A kind neighbor convinced them to let him go. I had already offered to pay, but nothing came of it until now. I’m sorry it took so long, Pelu.”
Today, Peluche revels in happiness in his new home and has a brilliant future ahead of him. His story serves as a poignant reminder of the impact we can have on the lives of animals in need, inspiring others to rescue and care for pets experiencing similar hardships.
